Very little is planned when I start painting. While I may have a composition in mind, a feeling I want to convey, or a color palette I’m pondering, it’s the canvas, acrylics, me, and whatever is on my heart that day. This allows the lines I paint to have a life of their own. They sprawl across the canvas and start to form their own shapes, figures, and personalities. By themselves, they are not much, but together they create something worth exploring. I use their unique characteristics to ignite imagination and spark opportunities to dare and dream—both on the canvas and off—for myself and the viewer.
